In 1999 at Hacienda la Magdalena in Jalisco, Mexico, Engineer Carlos Ochoa made his dream a reality when him and seven hard working men mounted a furniture workshop, just as his Grandfather did many years ago, using traditional woodworking construction techniques such as mortise and tenon and dovetail joinery. The company grew as Jorge Barragan, life time friend of Carlos, fell in love with the dream and brought to the company capital growth. Thus, International Furniture Direct, LLC (Artisan Home Furniture) was born in 2008 when the doors of their US distribution centers opened with fully stocked warehouses and complete truckload programs to supply popular demand for unique, born to last pieces of furniture. The fully expanded factory has recently improved most of its collections incorporating urethane based finishes and full extension glides on bedroom case pieces.
